Palermo has taken the lead in the standings after posting a 5-3 win over Catania for their third win. Others on the plus side were AC Milan, Lazio, Messina, Inter and Fiorentina. Atalanta and Empoli, Sampdoria and Udinese and Cagliari and Livorno all finished with draws.
