Milan aims for Scudetto while appealing sanctions

Despite a 15 point deficit to start the season, AC Milan has their sights set on winning the championship of Italy's Serie A, also known as the scudetto. It could be worse, thus the positive attitude. The alternative would be relegation to Serie B like their rivals Juventus, Lazio and Fiorentina as part of the match-fixing scandal. With these teams out of the way, especially Juventus, Milan has a realistic chance to win the title.

Also today, they ended their presentation of the appeal of the punishment which their lawyer called "exorbitant". The outcome is expected tomorrow (Tuesday) because the verdict has impact on the teams that Italy will enroll in the Champions League and UEFA Cup tournaments.
