Spaniards worthy champions of Euro2008

Lead by Fernando Torres' beautiful flick over a diving Jens Lehmann at the 33rd minute, from a perfect pass ahead by Xavi, Spain completed their championship run undefeated at 6-0 while leading the tournament with 12 goals scored. Their toughest game was a 0-0 contest with Italy in the quarter-finals which Spain won 4-2 on a penalty shoot-out. Spanish goalie Iker Casillas and their defense were outstanding, allowing three goals in six games.

Nice blog dude....good to see another azzurri fan blogger....
don't forget, italy is still plugging away at the WC'10 qualifying and had a big win vs. montenegro this weekend. the friendly vs. brazil was tough if only because Lippi didn't break the record of consecutive matches without a defeat. he should have stuck around in the first place!
I saw that result the other night while I was watching the US game. I think it's given me the motivation to restart this thing again. I've been extremely busy over the last nine months with a whole host of things but now most of that is behind me. I agree that the Donadoni "experiment" didn't go so well. I just wonder if it was all a well planned vacation by Lippi and others. Any way Forza Azzurri!
Great game today - Italy/US. Rossi changed the entire complexion of that game coming in (or at least,it seemed like it). Should be really interesting to see the spark he brings to an older team heading into the last round of qualifying.
