Gentile out and Casiraghi in as U-21 coach

One of my all-time favorites, Mr. Catenaccio himself, Claudio Gentile was told that he would not be retained as the coach of Italy's U-21 squad. He will be replaced by another former Azzurri of a younger generation, Pierluigi Casiraghi.

Gentile was upset because the timing of the move came after Roberto Donadoni was installed as head coach of the National squad following Marcello Lippi's resignation.

Casiraghi replaces legend

Casiraghi, a veteran of the National squad himself, will be assisted by Gianfranco Zola who played for the Azzurri in the early 1990's.
